NEW VIDEO from Litter Media: The 4th annual Giving Hearts Dance, hosted by the Adena Women’s Board, is Saturday February 2, 2020 at the PACCAR Medical Education Center at 446 Hospital Road, Chillicothe, Ohio.
Litter Media talked with Board Members Nancy Ames and Tiffany Butler Baldwin about how the event supports the S.A.N.E. program for Adena’s Sexual Assault Survivor Program and other projects the Adena Women’s Board raises funds for.
DJ Alex Foster and Soundtastic Enterprises returns for another year of entertainment and in addition to a silent auction, there will be a live auction. After a full day of rain, there was a brief opening of clear sky just as the sun was setting over the Scioto Valley. The horizon shows the next round of weather settling in for the weekend.

Friday January 24, 2020 was mostly rainy until late in the day. Here’s a look at a touch of clearing in the last moments of daylight. The darkness from cloud cover and nightfall over Chillicothe to the right in the first picture and a touch of the next weather pattern approaching from the southwest. In the second pic, a peek of a glimmering Paint Creek in the distance. For a short time, we had some clearing before a gray Saturday would arrive.

NEW VIDEO from Litter Media: Zane Trace claimed a 51-37 victory over Unioto Saturday January 18th, nearly a month after the Shermans edged the Pioneers 38-36. Cam Evans tallied 25 points to lead all scorers as Zane Trace controlled the boards 33-14. Litter Media’s Dan Ramey talked with Coaches Gary Kellough and Matt Hoops after the game.

Homeland partners with ccsd

Homeland Credit Union Sponsors Chillicothe Athletic Center

In January of 2019, the Chillicothe City School District was gifted the former Chillicothe Fitness and Racquet Club on Western Avenue. The school system began operating the facility in October and January 6, 2020, the school board announced a $250,000 agreement with Homeland Credit Union for naming rights. Zach Breth, Coordinator for the Chillicothe Athletic Center, says those funds will go a long way in transforming the center.
A special signing ceremony and reception for the agreement will be held in the CHS Alumni Library Wednesday January 15, 2020 at 3:30pm.

Spring in January?

The Winter of 2020 has been relatively mild. Ten days into the new year and temperatures are unseasonably warm, reaching the 60s Friday with forecast highs to reach the low 70s this weekend. Here’s a few photos from Pike County’s winter plant life.

Unioto at Southeastern

Unioto Takes Sole Possession of SVC Lead with 47-39 Win at Southeastern

NEW VIDEO from Litter Media: Our Litter Media cameras captured action at Southeastern Tuesday as the Unioto Shermans defeated Southeastern 47-39 to take sole possession of first place atop the SVC Girls Basketball standings. The Panthers and Shermans entered the contest at 5-0 with Southeastern taking an early 12-4 advantage. However, the Lady Tanks used a run to take a 16-15 lead and the two were tied at 18 by the intermission. The Panthers’ Sierra Mitten led all scorers with 15 points while four Shermans teamed up for the Unioto scoring, Amber Cottrill with 14, Cree Stulley with 13, Avery Miller with 11 and Emily Coleman with 9. SVC action resumes Thursday with the Panthers traveling to Adena. Both teams are in second place. Unioto is home with Paint Valley.

2020 Winter Concert January 25th

The Foothill Folk Society will hold its annual Winter Concert and Food Drive for Good Samaritan Network of Ross County on January 25th at 7pm at OUC’s Bennett Hall Auditorium. Admission is a cash donation or canned goods for Good Sam.

Featured performers for 2020 include: Rick Barnes, Ashley Good, Mark Sentieri, Tom Ingham, Paul Brown, Richard Moore, Jay Scott, The Davissons with Bryan Joseph and Ben True and the Basement Collective.

In January 2019, Litter Media sat in on this performance with Joseph, Sentieri, Barnes and Mark Thacker at Julie’s shop on paint.
