Ohio Governor Mike DeWine has selected two southern Ohio men among 42 appointments announced.

Paul Edward LaRue of Washington Court House (Fayette Co.) has been reappointed to the State Board of Education for a term beginning January 1, 2023, and ending December 31, 2026.

The Ohio Department of Education is a diverse team of passionate, education-focused professionals dedicated to fulfilling the vision established in Each Child, Our Future, Ohio’s strategic plan for education. The vision is, “In Ohio, each child is challenged to discover and learn, prepared to pursue a fulfilling post-high school path and empowered to become a resilient, lifelong learner who contributes to society.” Ensuring this vision for each of Ohio’s 1.7 million students, in partnership with more than 240,000 educators across the state, is no small feat.

Paul William Yost of Portsmouth (Scioto Co.) has been appointed to the Third Frontier Commission for a term beginning January 1, 2023, and ending April 1, 2024.

The Ohio Third Frontier is administered by an 11-member Ohio Third Frontier Commission. The Commission is comprised of the director of the Ohio Department of Development, the chancellor of the Ohio Department of Higher Education, the Governor’s science and technology advisor, the chief investment officer of JobsOhio, and six regional business or research representatives and one public-at-large representative appointed by the Governor.
