Fairfield & Athens County Companies Receive State Tax Credits To Expand Employment

(Columbus) – Ohio Governor Mike DeWine and Lt. Governor Jon Husted have announced the approval of seven projects that will create 458 new jobs and retain 357 jobs statewide.
During its monthly meeting, the Ohio Tax Credit Authority (TCA) reviewed economic development proposals brought to the board by JobsOhio and its regional partners. Collectively, the projects are expected to result in more than $34 million in new payroll and spur more than $132 million in investments across Ohio.
Cipted Corp, city of Lancaster (Fairfield County), expects to create 18 full-time-equivalent positions, generating more than $1.28 million in new payroll as a result of the company’s new location project in Lancaster. Cipted Corp specializes in building commercial service truck bodies such as platform and dump bodies and has partnered with major auto manufacturers as a one-stop shop for dealers, fleets, businesses, and retail customers. TCA approved a 1.169%, six-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.
Wedgewood Connect Ohio, LLC, village of Albany (Athens County), expects to create 51 full-time-equivalent positions, generating more than $5 million in new payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in Albany. Wedgewood Connect Ohio, LLC, is a compounding pharmacy that focuses on producing animal health medications. TCA approved a 1.54%, eight-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.
