Area Runners Earn All Ohio at State Cross Country Championships

Several area runners made it to the medal stand in the OHSAA State Cross Country Championships Saturday at Fortress Obetz.

Fairfield Union’s Andrew Walton won the Division 2 Boys Individual State Championship with a time of 15:00.17. Sheridan’s Tate Ruthers was 4th place.

Girls Division 2 saw Athens’ Sophia Szolosi as state runner-up, Anna Conrad of Fairfield Union was 7th, and Cameron Walker of Unioto 8th.

In Division 3 Boys, Landen Eyre of Whiteoak is state runner-up, Ryan Richendollar of Adena was 7th, and Evan Mcpherson of Federal Hocking was 10th.

In Division 1 Girls, Lancaster’s Marisa Heil placed 6th.
