
Bishop Flaget Honors Two Alums For Distinguished Careers

(Chillicothe) – On January 31st, Bishop Flaget School honored Mary Anne Brown and Edward Brown as the 2025 Distinguished Alumni Award recipients.

Ms. Brown is a 1960 graduate of Catholic Central High School and has dedicated her life to service in our community. She graduated from St. Mary of the Springs College, now known as Ohio Dominican and returned to our area where she taught French and history at Bishop Flaget High School for 10 years. Ms. Brown worked as director at the Adena State Memorial, and she has served on the St. Margaret Cemetery Association, Ross County Historical Society Board, and the Adena State Memorial Advisory Board. She is an authority on Thomas Worthington and his entire family.
Mr. Edward Brown is a 1964 graduate of Bishop Flaget High School and has practiced law in Chillicothe for nearly 50 years. His practice was broad, including probate, criminal defense, social security, and workers compensation claims. Mr. Brown was licensed in all courts of Ohio, the Federal District Court for the Southern District of Ohio, and the United States Supreme Court. Mr. Brown served as a lieutenant in the United States Army and completed a tour of duty in Vietnam. He was very active in Habitat for Humanity and the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
Both Ed and Mary Anne are life-long members of St. Peter’s Parish and its successor parish, Our Lady Queen of the Apostles.
