Final Mega Superload Could Create Traffic Delays at Ross County Fair
Article Presented By McDonald’s, I’m Lovin’ It!
(Southern Ohio) – The final Mega Superload to traverse through southern Ohio could cause some traffic delays for the next-to-last day of the 2024 Ross County Fair, and could also impact the Scioto County Fair prior to that.
Load #15 will arrive sometime between 1pm-3pm Friday August 9th, where it will be parked for the overnight, just a couple hundred yards away from the Ross County Fairground entrance on State Route 104. The Superload will leave that location at approximately 5:45am the following morning, Saturday August 10th and make its way through Pickaway County. Ross County Fair officials are urging anyone coming to the Fairgrounds that Friday, to either arrive before the Superload makes its way onto State Route 104 shortly after Noon, or wait until after it is parked at mid-to-late afternoon Friday.
The route for Load #15 will depart from the dock in Manchester Wednesday, August 7 and will be delivered to the Intel site in New Albany Tuesday, August 13. The detailed schedule is shown below.
“We realize the schedule for this move will conflict with the Pike County Fair, Ross County Fair, Scioto County Fair, and Pataskala Street Fair. We have attempted to schedule these moves so that traffic impacts are minimal, but the impacts are unavoidable if we want to finish with the mega load moves before the start of the school year, so we don’t affect school bus schedules. Several school districts along the route resume classes August 14th, so the schedule is very tight”, according to Ohio Department of Transportation officials.
