(Waverly) – Recent renovations to the Waverly Police Station have included a new roof, offices, a mayor’s court, and a police officer’s training room. The decades-old building needed a makeover and Fluor-BWXT Portsmouth helped fund the work with a $35,271 donation from the Community Commitment Fund.
Waverly Police Chief, John Winfield, said the roof was in bad shape.
“The roof was past due for replacement,” Winfield said, “Every time it rained, there were issues with our phone lines.”
“Now we don’t have that problem,” added Waverly Mayor, Rich Henderson. “This was a huge and much-needed improvement.”
“We are proud to be able to support public safety in the Waverly community,” FPB President and CEO Greg Wilkett said. “Our donation reflects our safety culture at the site and our commitment to making our communities a better place to live.”
