Lancaster Post 11 Baseball Falls from Great Lakes Regional Tournament

Lancaster American Legion Post 11 saw their 2024 season come to a close Saturday with a 7-1 loss to Midland, Michigan in the Great Lakes Regional Tournament in Illinois.
Both of Lancaster’s defeats in the double elimination tournament came to Midland, falling 3-1 in the opening round.
In Saturday’s season-ending loss, Midland scores one run in the first inning, only to see Post 11 even the score in the second inning for a 1-1 tie. Midland then broke the game open with two runs in the fifth and four in the top of the seventh inning.
Midland’s Sam Briggs got the pitching win, holding Lancaster to only three hits in five innings of work, fanning 8 batters. Lancaster had a total of four hits for the contest, while Midland had 8. Carson Miller suffered the loss for Post 11, working 6 innings with only 4 runs being earned. Post 11 committed 2 errors in the game.
Lancaster Post 11’s appearance in the Regionals, marked the first time in their club history of winning an Ohio state championship and a (35-15) record.
