(Chillicothe) – As part of the Ohio Department of Transportation—District 9’s Planning Department, the district’s Environmental Office is seeking public input for a slide repair project on U.S. 35 in Ross County.
ROS-35-23.67(119951) Is a proposal to perform a slide repair project on U.S. 35 at the 23.67 mile mark in Ross County. The project will install a 350-foot sheet pile retaining between U.S. 35 and the Scioto River. The project is located in a rural area of Scioto Township.
No new right-of-way will be needed for the project. No rivers, streams, wetlands or other water bodies will be impacted by the project. No homes or businesses will be removed by the project. The roadway will be open for the duration of the project.
The funding for the project is 80% Federal and 20% State. The environmental commitment date is 4/1/2025. The project is currently expected to be awarded 2/2/2026.
