Ross County Property Owners Given Opportunity To Dispute Property Valuations

Article Presented By Classic Brands…

(Chillicothe) – Ross County Auditor Jeff Lehner has invited Ross County property owners who wish to dispute their property valuations to apply for 2025 Board of Revision hearings.

“These hearings are owners’ opportunity to challenge Ross County’s valuations of their property for tax purposes,” Lehner said. “Each property has circumstances unique to itself and in many cases the only way we can know that adjustments are needed is to hear it from the owner.  I never want someone to pay more than what they’re obligated to; these hearings help to ensure we’re doing our best for every taxpayer.”

State law requires that applications for Board of Revision hearings be filed with county auditors on or before March 31.  Once that deadline has been reached, the Auditor’s office will review applications to set hearing dates for June and July.

“Same plan as in years past,” Lehner said. “We’ll provide a hearing for every eligible owner and work with applicants to set good dates. Nobody will miss out due to schedule conflicts and we’ll reschedule hearings if needed.”

Ross County residents who want to know more are encouraged to call the Auditor’s real estate office at (740) 702-3080 (option 2) or send Auditor Lehner an E-mail directly: JeffLehner@RossCountyOhio.gov
