2-1-1 Resource Available for Ross County Residents

While 2-1-1 is not new to Ross County, the service has been given an upgrade. Litter Media sat down with Rick Smith, President/CEO of United Way Ross County who says the resources available to callers 24/7 has been expanded greatly. UWRC Board Chairperson Kim Jones adds the free service is available to everyone in Ross County regardless of need.
When Ross County residents call 2-1-1, a community resource specialist will help identify organizations that can provide services like food, housing, heating assistance, disaster relief, education and employment opportunities, health care, support groups, veterans services and more.

Friday’s February Sunset

A snowy start to Friday cleared up enough to sneak in some late day sun. With forecast temperatures hovering around 32 degrees, there could be more snowflakes across the Scioto Valley.

Now That's Hot!!!

While learning to play the trombone in school, my band director, Fred Brobst shared with me the magical piece of brass “is the closest instrument to the human voice“.
Trombonist Valentin Guerin has taken it to a whole new level with his flame throwing Pyro-Trombone.
NOTE: Kids, don’t try this at home.
Guerin plays Arthur Pryor’s “Fantastic Polka” while launching flowing streams of flame all while maintaining magnificent range.
Another reason to put the trombone section at the front of the band marching through the parade, eh?
As a trombonist, this is seven minutes of true combination of joy and peril!

Friday January 24, 2020 was mostly rainy until late in the day. Here’s a look at a touch of clearing in the last moments of daylight. The darkness from cloud cover and nightfall over Chillicothe to the right in the first picture and a touch of the next weather pattern approaching from the southwest.
