The latest improvements to Camp Cattail were unveiled Monday, which includes brush and trees cleared away from the camp pond along with construction of a new fishing dock that is equipped to accommodate those with disabilities.
The project, which had a price-tag of just over $12,000, was mostly paid for thanks to the Landrum Endowment Grant from Ross County DD, totaling $11,934.
Board President and Camp Coordinator Brady Ratzlaff discusses the 2022 improvements:
Board Treasurer Sherri Hathaway says they are always looking for ways to improve Camp Cattail, which has seen over $30,000 in improvements over the last couple of years.
Ratzlaff says Matt Young did most of the work to clear the brush and trees around the pond along with constructing the new dock. Bathroom renovations were made to Camp Cattail in the summer of 2021.
The camp is free and open to the community, and will be hosting the 24th Annual Volunteer Jam Concert August 20th. The concert raises money to operate camps for those with disabilities each summer.
