Fairfield County Parks Announce Winter Outdoor Schedule To Open 2023

Article Presented By Classic Brands…

(Lancaster) – The Fairfield County Parks District is getting the new year off to an active start with outdoor and indoor events planned January 5th, 7th, 14th and February 4th.

Here is the schedule of upcoming events:

🔹 WAHKEENA NIGHT HIKE on January 5th at the Wahkeena Nature Preserve. Join a naturalist for this rare opportunity to hike the preserve after dark.  Bring a flashlight and dress appropriately for the evening’s weather conditions.  Due to the time of day and uneven nature of the trail, strollers and wagons are not recommended.

🔹 5th ANNUAL WINTER HIKE on January 7th at Smeck Park. Don’t hibernate, get outside!  Hikers should begin the two-mile trail between 10am-Noon. Afterward, warm up with hot drinks and roasted potatoes with toppings.

🔹 Check out programs hosted by the Fairfield County District Library at their main branch – “Super Sssnakes!” on January 14th and “Pinecone Birdfeeders” on February 4th.

GET FULL DETAILS about these and more programs on our Calendar at fairfieldcountyparks.org/events
