Lancaster Ranks Low For Central Ohio Tax Burden

Lancaster’s local tax burden is among the lowest in Central Ohio. That according to Lancaster Mayor David Scheffler.

“Lancaster continues to have one of the lowest local tax burdens among central Ohio cities. This chart Includes only taxes controlled at the local level and not federal or state income taxes, which are the same for all Ohio residents. The cities highlighted in blue do not have a city operated fire department, but are typically covered by a township fire department which is funded by real estate taxes”, according to Mayor Scheffler.

As shown on the chart, Circleville shows a tax rate of 2.50% compared to Lancaster’s 2.30%.
