Prayers in The TWP

Huntington Township is a closely knit community, aka “The TWP”. Nearly 200 members of the rural Ross County community gathered in the Huntington Local Schools cafeteria Thursday evening for a prayer vigil for two of their own.
Social media pages have been flooded with #HankTheTank, #BakerStrong and #TWPStrong.
Hank Masters is a kindergarten student at Huntington Local Schools, who’s mother is a teacher at the school. Hank is undergoing treatment for a kidney tumor. Jason Baker, father of a member of the Huntington Girls Basketball team, is being treated for complications following surgery last week.
The event was planned for the football field at the Myrl Shoemaker Huntington Athletic Complex, but the forecast for severe weather moved the vigil indoors to the school cafeteria.
The lighting of candles was replaced by smartphone lights as prayers were lifted up for Hank and Jason.
Spokespersons for both families gave updates on the condition of Hank and Jason. (Hear their comments in the video above.)
The Huntsmen will host Zane Trace in Waverly’s Downtown Gym Friday. They’ll be receiving donations to assist the Masters Family with their expenses while Hank The Tank continues treatment.
