“Our Troop just turned in our first order and we’ve sold 1,200 boxes already”. Troop 8735 Leader Krista Efaw told Litter Media Thursday afternoon.
That’s quite a start for the 2023 Girl Scout Cookie sales campaign which began the first week of January. Efaw says the goal is to sell 2-million boxes of cookies just in Ohio. The sale runs through March 19th.
The sale of Thin Mints, Samoas, Tagalongs, Do-si-dos, Adventurefuls and more will fuel the way for summer camp for the members of Troop 8735 and others across Southern Ohio. Monies raised directly supports girls locally.
Girl Scouts of Ohio’s Heartland says the first round of boxes should begin to arrive the week of February 13th.
Amelia, a third grader at Adena Elementary, was excited to announce the newest of the cookie lineup, Raspberry Rally. Efaw explains the new cookie is similar to the ever popular Thin Mints, only infused with raspberry flavor and dipped in the same chocolaty coating. The Raspberry Rally will be available for purchase online exclusively beginning February 27th.
Addison, a Fifth Grader at Adena Elementary, touted Operation Salute. She says the program allows customers to place orders of cookies, then donate them directly to soldiers or family members of military members. If you don’t know a Girl Scout, interested cookie lovers can visit the Girl Scouts of Ohio’s Heartland website to get connected to a local troop for shipment to their door. Efaw says to look for the girls around Chillicothe and other communities with their tables set up in or near store fronts for sidewalk sales of cookies.
