Southeastern High School has filled the vacancy left by the resignation of OHSVCA Hall of Fame Coach Lori Koker, hiring Ashton Ward. Ward is a Zane Trace graduate, who played for Koker when she coached the Pioneers between 2011-2016. Ward played on the varsity all four years, between 2013-17.
Ward communicated with Litter Media’s Mike Smith about her new posittion- “I have been on my volleyball journey since I was 10 years old, playing for multiple organizations. In my time at Zane Trace, I was a 4-year varsity starter for Coach Lori Koker. While I was there, I accomplished over 1,000 assists and digs, received SVC and district honors. I played club volleyball for SOVC, winning regionals my last season. I went on to play for Rio Grande as a setter. I have been coaching now for 5 years, coaching Spiketown Volleyball, and coaching at Huntington, and Zane Trace. I could not be more excited to continue to build this program.”
Last season under Coach Koker, the Panthers had a district runner-up finish and will return several varsity letter winners for the Fall of 2023.
