June Area Blood Drives Scheduled

(American Red Cross) – Be a part of something big this summer. Schedule an appointment, then hike into a blood drive to make a life-changing donation for patients across the country. Donors are needed in June to ensure there’s enough blood available throughout the busy summer months. Type O donors are especially needed right now. Type O positive is the most common blood type, and type O negative can be received by patients of all blood types. It’s important to ensure a steady supply of these critical blood types. 

• FOR DRIVES June 1-30: In thanks for doing good, all who come to give June 1-30 will receive a $10 gift card by email to a merchant of their choice. PLUS, they’ll also be automatically entered for a chance to win a backyard theater package including a laser wireless projector and screen, projector tripod, smokeless firepit, Adirondack chair set with four chairs and two tables and a movie night snack package. Separate from the Red Cross Blood Drives for Ross County in June, the Country Freebirds 4-H group is partnering with Versiti Blood Center to host a Ross County blood drive on Tuesday, June 13th from 2-8pm at the Christopher Conference Center in Chillicothe! Based in Columbus, Versiti Blood Center provides blood, blood products, and specialty laboratory services to The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, using more than 60,000 life-saving units of blood products annually.  Versiti also provides services to The James Cancer Center and Children’s Hospital in Columbus.
