Goodwill’s Dream Retreat Enrollment is Open

Article Presented By Kingston National Bank…

(Chillicothe) – Goodwill’s Dream Retreat for individuals with disabilities is returning for its fourth year at Buzzard’s Roost Nature Preserve in Ross County.

Dream Retreat will be for those 18 years and older from 9am-2pm July 31st to August 4th. Individuals in Ross, and Pike counties are eligible to attend the camp at Buzzard’s Roost, 514 Red Bird Lane. Activities planned for the retreat include fishing, hiking, cornhole, karaoke, a scavenger hunt, arts and craft, music, job skills, and guest speakers.

Goodwill started a camp in 2020 in partnership with the Pioneer Center and the Ross County Park District after the pandemic disrupted summer plans for many families. Individuals interested in attending should contact their SSA to make arrangements.

Goodwill is a nonprofit agency focused on partnering with individuals with disabilities and challenges to help them lead the lives they envision across our eight-county region: Athens, Fayette, Hocking, Jackson, Pickaway, Pike, Ross, and Vinton. As of June, Goodwill of South Central Ohio, based in Chillicothe, was serving 313 people across its region.

Goodwill provides services in partnerships with county developmental disability boards in our eight counties, the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities, and Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities.
