Local Farm Bureau & Ross SWCD To Host Career Ag Day

(Chillicothe) – The Ross County Farm Bureau and the Ross Soil and Water Conservation District will sponsor a career day event for Future Farmers of America (FFA) students. Over 75 Ross County FFA students are expected to participate in “Explore Careers in Ag Day” at the Ross County Fairgrounds and the Dunlap Ridge Farm on State Route 104 on Tuesday September 12, 2023.

Set up like a job fair, students will tour stations with information and presentations about agricultural careers:

• The Hobart Institute of Welding Technology will present a hands on welding demonstration

• GrowNextGen (funded by the Ohio Soybean Council and Ohio soybean farmers) will present career exploration activities

• Ross County Farm Bureau President Pam Snyder will conduct a Veterinary Science presentation • The Ross Soil and Water Conservation District will present a surveying demonstration
• Ross County Game Warden Bob Nelson will make a presentation
• Pixelle forester Todd Ference will conduct an interactive timber presentation

FFA students from Adena, Huntington, Southeastern and Zane Trace are expected to attend.
