Wichterman Selected As New Pickaway County Public Library Director

(Circleville) – The Pickaway County Library Board of Trustees has hired Drew Wichterman as library director.
Wichterman is from the Tipp City Public Library where he worked as Assistant Director and Adult Services Librarian for six years. Prior to that he worked for the Dayton Metro Library for three years with teens and outreach services. He currently serves on ALA’s Committee on Diversity, PLA’s Committee on Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Social Justice, as a board member for the State Library of Ohio and is the current Program Chair for the 2023 OLC Convention and Expo.
Wichterman has a passion for community engagement and outreach, having successfully partnered the library with local businesses, schools, and other community organizations to bring programs, services, and events to the community. He also has a talent for grant writing and serves as a grant reviewer for ALA.
Wichterman has a degree in history/education from Muskingum University, a Masters in Library and Information Science from Kent State University, and is a Certified Public Librarian through the Ohio Library Council.
Wichterman replaces David Fausnaugh who left in January to become the director of the Oberlin Public Library after six years of service in Pickaway County.
The Pickaway County Library serves the county with locations in Circleville and Ashville as well as Bookmobile stops throughout the county.
