South Webster Stays Perfect As They End Adena VB’s Season in Regional Semis

The South Webster Jeeps showed why they are (26-0) heading into Saturday’s Division 3 Regional Final against (22-5) Meadowbrook. The Jeeps are GOOD.
After dropping a wild 28-26 Set 1 when Adena rallied from three set-points for the win, South Webster gathered their offensive attack and went to work, picking the Warriors defense apart the rest of the match with tough serving and off-speed attacks that caught Adena off guard.
Set 2 stayed close through 13-13, when the Jeeps started to make their move for a 16-13 lead. Adena called timeout, only to find themselves behind 19-15, before rallying to within 20-18. The Jeeps would not allow them to get any closer, evening the match with a 25-20 win.
Set 3 turned the tide completly to South Webster as they roared to a 7-0 start and built leads as much as 12 in a 25-11 victory for a (2-1) match lead.
Set 4 started much the same way, with the Jeeps building a 9-3 lead before Adena called timeout. The Warriors later cut the deficit to 17-13, before South Webster took off on another run that would prove to be the getaway in a 25-19 match win.
South Webster showed a balanced attack with three players in double-digit kills and two others were 9 each. Bella Claxon led the charge with 17 kills, Skylar Zimmerman had 14, makayla Raynard 10, then Maryn Smith and Mia Crum each added 9 kills. The Jeeps also fired 8 aces on the service line.
Adena was led by Katie Burns with 15 kills, while Eva Kruger and Brinlee Preston each had 10 kills. Corrine Day had 5 kills.
South Webster improves to (26-0) and faces (22-5) Meadowbrook at 2pm Saturday for the D-3 Regional Championship at Logan High School.
Adena closes their season as District Champ and a record of (18-8).
