Unioto Teacher Helps Others Find Encouragement and Purpose Through Journaling

Article presented by Hometown-Motors, Inc.

When Miranda Rinehart, a Science and Physical Education teacher for Union-Scioto Schools began journaling, she discovered it helped improve her mood. After seeing its impact firsthand, she thought the process might be of assistance for others, too.

She turned what became a daily habit into a self-help book called “P.E.P. Talks Journal: 101 Days of Positivity and Encouragement To Help You Pursue Your Purpose”. It’s available through Amazon.

“It’s a journaling framework that I found myself, doing on my own, starting with gratitude”, said Rinehart in a Special Edition of #LitterMediaLIVE Tuesday.

“It’s a journaling framework that I found myself, doing on my own, starting with gratitude”, said Rinehart in a Special Edition of #LitterMediaLIVE Tuesday.

“When you start with gratitude, you think about the things you’re thankful for. And when you start writing about what you’re thankful for, immediately your mind gets a more positive mindset.”

After following others with similar interest on social media, she noticed another theme, affirmation. “I started adding those to my journaling, too. And that’s where the positivity and encouragement comes from. I found that when you have a positive mindset and you’re feeling encouraged, you’re not afraid to try new things and set goals – you’re not afraid to go after your goals – sometimes, that’s where you find your purpose in life.”

At the end of each week in the book readers find several “silver lining” interviews with people of all backgrounds from ages high school to age 65 – people who were struggling through something, yet somehow made it through their battle. Rinehart conducted those interviews during the COVID-19 Pandemic. Rinehart says at the end of six days writing, readers can read an uplifting story of encouragement.

“P.E.P. Talks Journal” recently sold out, but more editions of the book are coming soon.

Look for more from Rinehart in the future. She’s already working on a daily devotional book.
