Jackson starting pitcher Gaven Jones worked all seven innings, scattering seven base hits in the Ironmen’s 5-2 FAC Baseball Championship victory at Miami Trace Monday. Jones struck-out 13 Panthers batters and also contributed at the plate, driving in one run with an RBI fielders choice in the first inning.
Jackson built a 5-0 lead by the fourth inning, scoring one in the first and two runs in each the third and fourth innings. Miami Trace scored both of their runs in the fifth.
Multi-hit batters for Jackson included Bodhi Wolford’s 3/4 with one RBI, Nolan Johnson 2/4 with an RBI, and Ryan Seimetz 2/3 with an RBI sacrifice fly.
Miami Trace was led on offense by Konnor May and Austin Boedecker as each had two hits. Brady Armstong, who suffered the pitching loss in four innings of work, drove in both of the Panthers’ runs with a single, but went to second base on an outfield error.
Jackson had 5 runs on 10 hits, committing 2 errors. Miami Trace scored 2 runs on 7 hits. Jackson claims the outright FAC Championship and stands (9-0/19-4) with their final conference game slated for Tuesday, May 7th vs Miami Trace, who now stands at (7-2/14-7).
