Changes In Store For 2024 Ross County Junior Fair Livestock Sales

Feedback concerning the 2023 Livestock Auction from the Ross County Junior Fair Sale Committee survey conducted in January has led to changes for the 2024 Sales.

Fair Sale Committee Member Kacey Shaffer and Ross County Senior Fairboard Member Kelley VanHoose, appeared on Litter Media’s Special Edition to discuss four changes in the 2024 Livestock Auctions. To see the full interview, click the arrow below:

Change #1- American Realty & Auction will be arriving earlier this year, where potential buyers can stop by and see them at the Ross County Fairgrounds Sales Office (front corner of the Show Arena) on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 11am-6pm. They can handle add-ons and buyer registration ahead of same day crowds.

Change #2- The auction company will begin taking add-ons on Monday, July 22nd to August 3rd, then August 12th-23rd. Contact the auction office at (615) 375-1899.

Change #3- A member of the Sale Committee will be assisting the auctioneers on the block to assist with introduction of exhibitors and reading of buyer names through all the sales.

Change #4- On October 2nd-3rd, the Committee will offer in-person exhibitor check pickup at the fairgrounds. Hours will be announced. Exhibitors or their parent/guardians can pick up checks, ensure accuracy, and resolve issues with American Realty & Auction, who will be on site to assist.

Buyer packets are being mailed July 12th and prospective buyers are urged to read the flyers included for the most up-to-date information and utilize the exhibitor list to plan your fair week. If you do not receive a buyer packet, contact Cheri at (740) 703-5385.

2024 Ross County Junior Fair Livestock Sale Dates are:
*August 8th at 6pm for hogs
*August 9th at 6pm for beef, dairy, goat & lamb
*August 10th at 9am for turkey, chicken & rabbit
