Ohio University Chillicothe invites the community to participate in its fall Community Education Workshop Series. These non-credit workshops are designed to engage participants in fun, hands-on experiences, offering opportunities to learn new skills, relax, and unleash their creativity.
OHIO Chillicothe’s Community Education series includes workshops for basket weaving, pickleball, candle making, henna, painting, and more. Community Education workshops are open to the public and all ages are welcome unless otherwise noted.

Throughout the fall there are many opportunities to learn, explore and create with guest instructors at Ohio Chillicothe. October classes include Henna 101, Watercolor for Beginners, Basic Training for Dogs and Puppies, Spooktacular Tie Dye Experience, needle felting, floral arranging, and more. The fall lineup also features a series of music production and recording workshops taught by instructors from Massieville recording studio, The RecW.
In November, Kim Jones will lead a two-session grant-writing workshop. The grant writing workshop will equip participants with essential skills for writing effective grant proposals. Jones will cover foundational grant writing principles, techniques for using research databases, and an eight-step process for crafting successful proposals.
Ty McBee will lead a workshop entitled Successful Business Planning During the Metacrisis. This two-part workshop will introduce the components of a viable, useful and successful business plan. This course is geared towards small businesses and non-profit organizations looking to launch or expand during times of economic, environmental, social and political change. This fast-paced course will give participants the confidence to navigate building a business plan and to react effectively to change. At the end of the course, the participants will have outlined a basic business plan that can be further developed to seek funding and flesh out a full operational plan.
