Ed Yates Voted Into Ohio HS Baseball Coaches Hall of Fame

A former local high school baseball coach that won at almost every school program he led, is heading to the Ohio High School Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fame. Ed Yates will be among the inductees for the Hall of Fame Class of 2025 at the Annual Banquet at the State Clinic on Friday January 31, 2025.
Yates was head baseball coach at Madison Plains in 1995, two stints at Adena between 1997-2007 then again from 2011-2012. He concluded his baseball coaching career at Huntington between 2018-2023.
Ed’s career coaching record was (351-141), with 264 of those wins at Adena. His career SVC Baseball record was (198-54), with 159 wins at Adena. Yates led baseball teams won 13 sectional titles, 9 district championships, 1 regional title and a state runner-up finish with Adena in 2005.
Yates also was SVC Coach of the Year 10 times, 7 district coach of the year honors, Muzino All Ohio Coach on 2007 and 2012, then National Federation High School Coach of the Year in 2012.
While being recognized for for his career as a successful high school baseball coach, Ed Yates also coached football, softball, and cross country.
