Grant Funded Water Filling Stations Awarded In Highland County

Article Presented By Litter Quality Propane…

Several weeks ago we told you about available applications through the Highland County Health Department for new sanitary water filling stations that would be awarded in their communities. Now the winners have been announced.

The following agencies have been awarded a free water bottle refilling station from the Highland County Health Department, thanks to a grant funded through the Ohio Department of Health.

  • Highland Count Board of Developmental Disability
  • Highland County Veterans Services
  • Highland County Board of Commissioners
  • Highland County Engineer
  • Hillsboro Municipal Court
  • Highland District Hospital
  • Hillsboro Bible Baptist Church
  • The Recovery Council Connections Program
  • Samaritan Outreach Services
  • North High Business Center
  • Village of Greenfield
  • Weastec- Greenfield

HCHD will be providing 31 free water bottle refilling stations to these agencies!  The goal of this grant is to reduce disease transmission through touchless filling stations, minimizing single-use plastic bottles, and promoting water consumption.

HCHD still has limited funds available for additional water bottle refilling stations.  Now is the time to submit your application. To be eligible for this opportunity, applicants must:

*Be located within the Health District (all areas of Highland County).

*Be a governmental agency, nonprofit, for profit or other organization.

*Agree to all items required within the application and submit a fully completed application with any supporting documentation.

Additionally, those awarded a water bottle refilling station will be responsible for installing and maintaining the station.

All applicants must complete an application to be eligible to receive a water bottle refilling station and will be scored based on a rubric system. If more eligible applications are received than the grant funding can provide, distribution of the water bottle refilling stations will be based on the application score.
