Boetcher Named OSHP Chillicothe Post Trooper of Year

Chillicothe – Ohio State Highway Patrol Trooper Tyler L. Boetcher has been selected as the 2024 Trooper of the Year at the Chillicothe Post.

The selection of Trooper Boetcher, age 30, is in recognition of outstanding service during 2024 at the Chillicothe Post.  Trooper Boetcher was selected for this award by his peers, because of his enthusiastic work attitude, leadership abilities, community engagement, and his level of professionalism with his supervisors, peers, and the public. 

Trooper Boetcher is now in contention for the District and State Trooper of the Year Awards, which will be announced at a later date.

Trooper Boetcher has previously received the Criminal Patrol Award 2016 through 2024, the ACE Award 2017 through 2019 along with 2021. He received the Blue Max Award for the most recovered stolen vehicles in the state of Ohio in 2019.

Trooper Boetcher joined the Ohio State Highway Patrol in 2015 and was a member of the 159th Academy Class.  Upon his graduation, Trooper Boetcher served at the Lebanon Post, the Chillicothe Post and the Jackson District Criminal Patrol Section. Trooper Boetcher attended Teays Valley High School in Pickaway County. Trooper Boetcher and his wife, Tayde, live in Chillicothe, Ohio, with their two children, Tia and Truitt.
