McClain Lady Tigers Edge Hillsboro For Undisputed FAC Crown

(Greenfield) – McClain’s Lady Tigers got a put-back basket from Larah Henson with 2.3 seconds remaining to edge arch-rival Hillsboro 39-37 to claim the outright FAC girls basketball title Saturday at McClain High School Gym.

Despite trailing 7-1 coming out of the gate, Hillsboro led most of the contest, including margins of 16-15 at halftime, held their biggest lead of nine points, and were up 31-25 after three quarters. But, McClain’s 14-6 final quarter was enough to put them over the top for the FAC title victory.

McClain was led by Paisley Pryor’s 15 points with Larah Henson chipping in 14 points- including the game winning shot off a missed shot inside the paint.

Hillsboro had no player in double figures, although they received a balanced offensive effort from Peighton Bledsoe and Ella Jordan who each scored 9 points, followed by Kobie Miles’ 8 points.

The Lady Tigers sport an 18-game win streak, improving to (9-0/19-1) and win the FAC title. Hillsboro falls to (8-2/16-3), with three non conference games remaining.
