Article Presented by Tomlinson Insurance…
Bishop Flaget School in Chillicothe has named a new principal to replace long-time administrator Laura Corcoran. Father Christopher M. Tuttle announced on Flaget’s Facebook page that Dr. Derya Rix will fill that position.
Father Tuttle penned the following introductory letter for Dr. Rix:
Dear Bishop Flaget School Community,
I am happy to announce Dr. Derya Rix as the next principal of Bishop Flaget School, effective July 1st, 2025.
Dr. Rix, who most recently taught at St. Benedict School in Kansas and Holy Apostles College and Seminary in Connecticut, brings with her over a decade of teaching, writing, and public speaking experience. An author, a former high school admissions director and recruiter, she is passionate about Catholic education.
She holds a PhD in Politics and an M.A. in History, while she continues to complete an M.A. in Theology at Franciscan University in Steubenville, Ohio.
Dr. Rix and her husband Virgil have 6 children, 3 girls and 3 boys. We are proud to invite them into our school community.
I would like to thank personnel from the Office of Catholic Schools for assisting me in identifying our next principal.
I invite you all to meet Dr. Rix when she comes to Bishop Flaget School on Thursday April 3rd. She will give a talk in the gymnasium at 6:00pm and there will be an opportunity for a meet and greet afterwards.
Please join me in congratulating Dr. Derya Rix.
In Christ,
Fr. Christopher M. Tuttle
