SVC Pauses Previews For 2025-26

(UPDATE) – The Scioto Valley Conference has decided not to host exhibition previews for volleyball and basketball for 2025-26.

SVC Secretary Dr. Chris Good has confirmed to Litter Media’s Mike Smith that the conference previews for volleyball and basketball will not be conducted in 2025-26. “After much discussion, it has been decided to discontinue the volleyball and basketball previews for this year. It will be reevaluated next year”, Good stated in an email response.

The previews have been a source for raising money over the years to help pay for conference postseason team and player awards. Attendance has waned at the previews over the last decade, although it is not known whether that was a factor in the decision to pause the previews for this school year.

The SVC did host a football preview for a few years in the 1990’s, but was discontinued after conference football coaches objected to it taking away from the number of scrimmages they could play in prior to the regular season kickoff.
