Scioto Township Follows Suit In Lowering Property Tax Rates for 2026
Article Presented By Tomlinson Insurance…
(Scioto Township, Ross County) – At a special meeting September 18, 2025, the Scioto Township Trustees John Wetzel, Bill Taylor and Paul Corcoran unanimously voted to reduce the township’s property tax rates by 30% to mitigate the impact of a state-mandated property revaluation on taxpayers for 2026 and prevent an un-voted tax increase for the township.
A state-mandated revaluation of properties in Ross County for 2026 is causing local property tax bills to rise. Although the tax rate for the township is a relatively small part of a tax bill, this action will help some to mitigate next year’s tax increase. This action is similar to other townships in Ross County who have taken this same action.
Union Township made the same decision the day before.
