Article Presented By Tomlinson Insurance…
(Chillicothe) – Petland and Petland Charities, a 501c3 non-profit entity, are committed to caring for our communities’ K9 protectors and certified school therapy dogs. Each month, Petland’s K9 Feeding Program provides law enforcement K9s, search dogs and certified school therapy dogs with food to help offset the cost to communities or the human officers/handlers who manage the needs of these working heroes.

Law enforcement agencies and school districts are urged to apply online to participate in the 2026 K9 Officer Feeding Program. Applications for the 2026 program year are being accepted online through November 15, 2025. To be considered for the program, each canine applicant must have current and active certification as a working dog from its state governing authority. For consideration, applicants will be required to upload proof of active certification during the online application process.
Funding is generated from Round up at the Register donations by Petland guests at each Petland-owned store. Law enforcement entities and school districts located within those store communities will have priority in the selection process to ensure these donated funds serve that locality.

Past program participants are required to apply each year for the K9 Officer Feeding Program. Applications must be completed online. To apply for Petland Charities’ K9 feeding program visit https://tinyurl.com/mtecdkp8 or scan the QR Code to link to the application.
Applicants will be notified of their award status by December 10, 2025. If awarded, the department will be provided with information about food distribution and more.
