Shine On Chillicothe Tree Lighting to Spark Holiday Magic Downtown

(Chillicothe) – Shine On Chillicothe invites the community to gather for its beloved annual Tree Lighting Ceremony, a heartwarming kickoff to the holiday season that blends tradition, togetherness, and twinkling lights.

This year’s celebration will take place on Friday, November 21st at 6pm at the entrance to Yoctangee Park.  The new community tree will glow with thousands of lights—each one a symbol of hope, unity, and the joy of the season. The event is free and open to all.

 Highlights Include:

• A countdown to the lighting of the Shine On Tree

• Live music 

• Official opening of Santa’s house 

• A tribute to community donors and volunteers who make the magic possible

“This tree reminds us that even in the darkest months, our community shines brightest when we come together,” says Lisa Wayland, Shine On Chillicothe board president and longtime advocate for inclusive traditions.

The Shine On Tree Lighting creates joyful, welcoming experiences for all families in Chillicothe and surrounding communities.  Donations from local businesses and residents fund the tree, and the holiday lights and displays in the park.
