Alzheimer’s Awareness Walk 2025 Chillicothe/Hillsboro

$25,874 Raised to Fight Alzheimer’s at Chillicothe/Hillsboro Alzheimer’s Awareness Walk

Article Presented By Accurate Heating, Cooling & Plumbing…

(Chillicothe) – The Chillicothe and Hillsboro communities came together to raise $25,874 toward the $30,000 2025 fundraising goal for the Chillicothe/Hillsboro Walk to End Alzheimer’s to support the care, support and research programs of the Alzheimer’s Association.

Anyone interested in supporting the Walk efforts can make a donation until Dec. 31 at alz.org/walkgreatercincinnati and selecting the Chillicothe/Hillsboro Walk event page.

“The Greater Cincinnati Chapter sincerely thanks the many dedicated Walk participants, volunteers and sponsors who made our 2025 Walk to End Alzheimer’s a tremendous success,” said Veronica Amato, Walk manager for the Alzheimer’s Association Greater Cincinnati Chapter.

“The funds raised will help fuel disease research while also providing critical care and support provided free to individuals and families affected by Alzheimer’s and other dementia.”

The Trinity United Methodist Church Walk team surpassed their $2,000 goal by raising $4,602, making them the top fundraising team at this year’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s at Yoctangee Park Chillicothe on Sat., Oct. 18.

“Without the support of so many Walk participants, local businesses, and generous sponsors, we could not have raised the critical funds that allow us to provide free educational programs, local support groups, and other services that support the families in our communities impacted by Alzheimer’s and other dementias,” said Amato.

The 2025 sponsors included:
Area Agency on Aging 7
Nourse Automall
Merchants National Bank
Universal 1 Credit Union
National Church Residences
Remo Health

“We thank each and every person that generously raised funds and every sponsor that provided support to help raise awareness and move us forward to realize a world without Alzheimer’s and all other dementia,” Amato concluded.

For the first time, the number of people living with Alzheimer’s disease in the U.S. is more than 7 million. That includes 236,200 in Ohio, according to the 2025 Alzheimer’s Disease Facts and Figures. Deaths due to Alzheimer’s more than doubled (142%) between 2000 and 2022, while deaths from the leading cause of mortality (heart disease) decreased by 2.1%.
