(Chillicothe) – The Ross County Historical Society invites the community to celebrate the season at its annual Holiday Open House on Saturday, December 13th, featuring a special morning event exclusively for young history lovers.

Junior Member Program: Breakfast with Santa Saturday, December 13th at 10am–12pm Ross County Historical Society | 45 West Fifth Street. Junior Members are invited to kick off the festive day with our first annual Breakfast with Santa, a fun and family-friendly holiday tradition. Guests can enjoy pastries, water, and juice while meeting the Jolly Old Elf himself. Children will also have the chance to take a photo with Santa and learn about his long and fascinating history.

Admission: Free for current Junior Members/$10 for non-members. Those who sign up for the Junior Member Program at the event will receive a full year of activities at no additional cost.

Holiday Open House: Main Event Saturday, December 13th between 1pm–5pm at the Ross County Historical Society | 45 West Fifth Street. The celebration continues throughout the afternoon as the Historical Society opens its doors for a festive community open house. Visitors can explore the museum’s full array of exhibits, including our 2025 temporary displays, available only through the end of this year. Staff and volunteers will be on hand to share insights, answer questions, and guide guests through the collections.

A special display of hand-crafted items will highlight unique regional artistry, featuring colorized maps of the Hopewell Ceremonial Earthworks, traditional German Scherenschnitte paper cuts, and Appalachian cornhusk dolls—perfect for holiday gift inspiration.
