Longtime Ross County Fair Board member Gary Prater was inducted into the Ohio Fair Managers Association Hall of Fame last weekend during the OFMA’s annual convention at the Columbus Convention Center.

During Prater’s 40 years of service, he served as Chairman of the Grandstand Entertainment Committee and has been a steadfast supporter of the Junior Livestock Sale.  He also worked with the OFMA as District 4 Director from 2003 through 2013 and again in 2019. Joining Prater in the Hall this year, Lorain County Fair’s Kim Meyers, Columbiana County Fair’s Bert Dawson, Summit County Fair’s Theresa Call and Brown County Fair’s Dan Gray.

Prater became the third Ross County Fair Board member to be inducted. Wayne Cryder was inducted in 2001 and Jim “Butter” Cawley in 2004.
