COLUMBUS – The Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) Licensing and Commercial Standards section is pleased to announce the addition of the Motorcoach Inspection Portal to the Vehicle Inspection Gateway.
Starting today, owners and operators of motorcoaches and buses will be able to schedule their required annual inspections through a streamlined online portal, which can be found here. The new portal accommodates all vehicles requiring annual inspections, according to Ohio Revised Code 4513.51.
“We are pleased to offer this new level of convenience to our partners in the motorcoach industry,” said Captain Aaron Reimer, Licensing and Commercial Standards commander. “This portal represents our commitment to using technology to enhance public safety and improve the user experience.”
By moving to an online scheduling system, the Patrol aims to simplify the scheduling process for those needing service. The key features of the Motorcoach Inspection Portal include:
- On-demand scheduling: Users can select specific dates and times throughout the year that best fit their operational needs.
- Location flexibility: Users can browse different districts and select the inspection site most convenient for them.
- Fleet accommodation: For operators with five or more vehicles ready for inspection, the OSHP offers specialized scheduling through local district offices.
While the scheduling process is moving online, safety and licensing requirements remain unchanged. As a reminder, the driver presenting the vehicle for inspection must be properly licensed to operate that specific vehicle, and all necessary vehicle information should be ready at the time of online booking.
