
Boys Bowling: Ironton, Unioto, Westfall & Washington Advance to District

Ironton won the Boys D-II Bowling Sectional at Shawnee Lanes Monday. The Tigers rolled a 3705 placing ahead of second place Unioto’s 3673. Westfall finished third with a 3567 and Washington was fourth scoring a 3537. Each team advanced to the District Tournament.
While the top four teams advanced, the top four bowlers not on a qualifying team advanced as individually. Eastern Brown’s Ziek Newton was the top individual scoring a 717. Also advancing were Lynchburg-Clay’s Tristin Puckett (597), Justin Owens from Gallia Academy (589) and River Valley’s Riley Hatton (583).
The bowlers will return to Shawnee Lanes for the District Tournament on February 16th at 11am.
Just missing the cut was Gallia Academy, placing fifth followed by Whiteoak, Lynchburg-Clay, Eastern Brown, Wellston, and River Valley rounding out the top 10.
The D-II Girls Sectional is Tuesday at Shawnee Lanes.
