Sporting her Chillicothe Elks #52 Hoop Shoot shirt, the Paint Valley Elementary Bearcat made 23-of-25 shots to win the title. Weaver hit her first 17 shots safely before having the eighteenth rim out. But she managed to regain her stroke and knock down five of the next six to secure the win.
Weaver first gained national attention in April of 2024 when she won the 8-9 year-old Division in the first year she’d ever picked up a basketball. That year, she also won the Getty Powell Award for the highest score of the three Girls Divisions. This time, she was edged out by one shot by the 12-13 year-old winner from Grand Rapids, Michigan.
As a National Champ, Weaver will once again have her name displayed at the Naismith National Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, Massachusetts.
