PIKETON, OH – The Wings of Hope Camp P Town summer program will get a boost this year with a $5,000 donation from the Southern Ohio Cleanup Company (SOCCo).
The summer outreach program promotes positive values, drug-free lives, and overall health and wellness to help everyone reach their full potential.
“Finding a safe place for children to enjoy their summer is important, and Camp P Town is an excellence resource for parents,” said SOCCo CEO and President Pat Timbes. “Organizations like Wings of Hope are vital to growing strong community, and SOCCo is proud to help in their efforts.”
Maxine Malone, who runs the 14th Street Community Center and is the founder and CEO of Wings of Hope said she has been holding the camp since the early 80s. The camp now has a yearly attendance of nearly 250 children.
“We really appreciation the support SOCCo has provided for our program,” said Malone. “Every amount we receive goes straight into growing and developing our programs for the children in our area.”
The donation will help the program pay facility fees for the three-month program.
