5th Annual Kenworth Truck Parade is Saturday

Article presented by Litter Quality Propane

Fifty trucks from across America will roll through Chillicothe’s First Capital District Saturday evening for the 5th annual Kenworth Truck Parade.

Street closures will begin at 4pm and the parade begins at 8:30pm. See the parade route on the map below from the City of Chillicothe.

Truck drivers have been arriving this week and will tour the Kenworth Plant to see how their rigs have been built, enjoy a dinner and family day activities followed by the parade and capped by a concert by Blaine Bunting at Paint and Second Streets.

Police will escort the convoy of trucks from the Ross County Fairgrounds and begin staging on West Water and North Walnut Streets Saturday around 7:30pm. The parade route travels east on Water Street to Mulberry, south to East Second Street and west to North Walnut. Announcer stages will be located on Water Street and at the Majestic Theatre to help spectators know more about the trucks and their drivers as they make their way through Ohio’s First Capital, home to Kenworth, manufacturer of the “World’s Best Trucks”.

Trucks from 23 states will be here as Kenworth marks the 50th anniversary of the Aerodyne Sleeper semis and expect a lot of red, white and blue for America’s 250th birthday.

There will be a collection of food trucks in the parking lot next to United Way Ross County in addition to the many restaurants which will be open for business along the parade route. United Way is the charity partner with Kenworth and will have representatives selling split the pot tickets before the parade as well.
