SOCCo Supports Workforce Development Program with $5,000 Grant

CHILLICOTHE, OH – The Southern Ohio Cleanup Company (SOCCo) recently provided a grant for $5,000 to the Life Works When You Work program to aid in the establishment of a workforce development program in Ross County.

“This project will establish a comprehensive workforce development program designed to equip adult residents of Ross County with the foundational skills, credentials and the confidence needed to secure and retain employment,” said First Baptist Community Development Corporation Founder, Moses Edwards, Jr.

SOCCo provided funding to aid in the purchase of computers for the program to help participants obtain credentialling.

“A key outcome of the program is that all participants will earn an industry-recognized credential with a focus on hospitality principles,” Edwards explained. “This credential serves as a foundational asset for non-degree job seekers, opening pathways to employment across a wide range of industries where customer engagement, service excellence and operational understanding are critical.”

Participants in the program will complete a six-week program and graduate with a demonstrated ability for job readiness.

“Our Community Commitment Plan is focused on workforce development,” said SOCCo President and CEO Pat Timbes. “This initiative directly supports workforce development in Ross County by preparing residents for entry-level and advancement opportunities. We are proud to support this endeavor.”
