OSP will conduct OVI checkpoints in Auglaize, Belmont, Crawford, Defiance, Delaware, Fayette, Miami, Montgomery, Pickaway, Portage, Scioto, Van Wert, Washington and Wayne counties.

The checkpoints in Pickaway and Fayette County are Friday night, August 20th. The Pickaway County checkpoint is on Lancaster Pike between 8pm-10pm in conjunction with Circleville Police Department.

In Fayette County, in conjunction with the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office and the Washington Court House Police Department announced today that an OVI checkpoint will be held from 9pm to 11pm Friday on US 62 near Lincoln Drive, in Washington Court House, Fayette County, Ohio.

The OVI checkpoint is funded by federal grants, with the intention of both deterring people from driving while impaired and removing those who choose to do so from our roadways.

In addition to the checkpoint, saturation patrols will be utilized to further combat OVI related injury and fatal crashes.

If you plan to consume alcohol, please use a designated driver or make other travel arrangements before you drink. Don’t let another life be lost for the senseless and selfish act of getting behind the wheel impaired.
