Adena Rolls To 39-13 Win Over Fairfield Christian

The Adena Warriors evened their season record to (1-1) Friday, with a 39-13 home victory over the Knights of Fairfield Christian Academy.
The Warriors jumped out to a 14-0 lead with scores from Nathan Dreitzler on a run of almost 70 yards for the first TD of the game at 8:56 of first quarter, followed by quarterback Andrew Vickers 10 yard TD run 3:39 left first quarter.
Running back Danny Blair got the Knights on the board with a one yard TD run to cut Adena’s lead to 14-7 with 1:04 left first quarter.
Nathan Dreitzler scored his second TD on a 10 yard run with 3:28 left in the first half, but the PAT failed for an Adena 20-7 lead. That was the score at halftime.
Adena’s Caleb Osborne scored on a 4 yard TD run at 9:40 left in the third quarter followed by Cody Watkins’ PAT kick to give the Warriors a 27-7 lead.
Nathan Dreitzer took one to the house from 26 yards at 5:19 of third quarter. The PAT was muffed putting the Warriors up 33-7. Dreitzler scored his 4th touchdown of the game at 2:56 left in the contest. Adena led 39-7 after a missed PAT.
The Knights added a score on a 54 yard TD pass combo between quarterback Gabe Welsh to Rusty Hutchinson. The PAT was missed, providing Adena their 39-13 margin of victory.
Adena rolled up 414 total yards, with McDonald’s Player of the Game Nathan Dreitzler accounting for 266 rushing yards on 27 carries, scoring four touchdowns.
Adena improves to (1-1), while Fairfield Christian Academy dropped to (0-2). They lost their opener to Green, 15-13 last week.
