OHSAA Girls Cross Country

Area Runners Punch Their Ticket for OHSAA Cross Country State Meet

A number of area cross country runners will advance to the OHSAA State Cross Country Championships Saturday, November 1st following qualifications at the regional level Saturday, October 25th.

Lancaster’s Brock Jarrett finished 7th in Boys Division 1 to qualify for the state meet. Teays Valley was fifth and Lancaster 7th as teams to qualify for the state meet. Katy Zang of Teays Valley is the individual regional runner-up and Harper Allen of Lancaster third.

Chillicothe Boys advance to the state meet as a team with a third place finish in Division 2 at Pickerington.

In Division 2 Girls, Sophia Szolosi of Athens is the regional individual champion, with her Athens team runner-up to qualify for state. Unioto’s Cameron Walker placed 7th, and will advance as an individual runner.

Fairfield Union and Unioto boys teams placed third and fourth, respectively, in the Division 3 Meet and advance as a team. Fairfield Union’s Connor Runkle placed third in the individual 5,000 meter run with Unioto’s Caleb Caplinger 7th, as the top placing area boys runners.

In Division 3 Girls, Fairfield Union advances as a team, finshing fourth.

In Division 4 Girls, Adena’s Vanessa Conley placed 4th and advances to the state meet. In the D-4 Boys, Braden Mantell of South Webster placed 4th to advance. Fisher Catholic won the boys team title.
