Boys Bowling: Westfall Wins D II Sectional at Shawnee Lanes

Westfall had a great start to the Boys Division II Bowling Sectional at Shawnee Lanes Monday, posting a reported school record 1023 pinfall in its opening game. The Mustangs (3916) finished atop the heap through the Baker games to lead the qualifier for next week’s District tournament.
The top four teams and the top four individual scores by bowlers not on a qualifying team advance to the District.
Washington placed second (3760) ahead of Lynchburg-Clay (3722) and Zane Trace (3632).
Trevor Drone paced the Westfall attack with a 634 total in the first three games, followed by Dawson Fannin (613), Connor Geer (570) Tristan Sprague (565) and Dalton Bush (470).
Individual qualifiers include Wellston’s Scott Davis (634), South Gallia’s Jonathan Hatton (626), Mason Davidson of Ironton (625) and Cullen Beatty of McClain (611).
Unioto (3616) placed fifth, just missing the cut by 16 pins. The rest of the field: Ironton (3556), Gallia Academy (3537), Whiteoak (3426), Wellston (3309), McClain (3303), Eastern (3292), South Point (3136), Logan Elm (3107), Rock Hill (3041), New Lexington (2928), Fairfield (2871), Dawson-Bryant (2839), Ripley (2756), River Valley (2755), Vinton County (2658), Ironton St. Joseph (2402) and Sciotoville Community (1862).
The Boys D II District is Monday February 17th at 11am at Shawnee Lanes. ***UPDATE: The Girls were scheduled to compete in their Sectional Tuesday morning at Shawnee Lanes, but weather forced the event to be moved to Friday. The Girls District will be Tuesday February 18th.
