Boys Tennis: Chillicothe & Circleville Earn Wins

The Cavaliers improved to 3-0 on the season with a 3-2 match win over Teays Valley  at the Chillicothe Athletic Center.

Noah Flores defeated Luke Peters 6-2,6-1 in the Nuber-1 Singles match. TV’s Cam Clark outlasted Elijah Yandila in Number-2 Singles 6-3, 4-6, 6-4. In 3rd Singles, Malachi Upshaw defeated Sam Ridley 6-3, 6-4.

In the Doubles matches, Lyric Grave and Yohan Abreu defeated Nolan Lupfer and Luke Long 6-4, 7-5 and the team of Bradley Hunt and Eli Esham defeated Riley Frey and Arjun Sreekanth 6-4, 6-0.

Chillicothe faces Hillsboro Wednesday in Frontier Athletic Conference action Tuesday in Highland County. Teays Valley

The Circleville Tigers swept their match with Washington Monday.

In the Singles matches, Chase Melvin was a 6-0, 6-0 winner over Zach Brobeck in 1st Singles; Ashton Groff took Colton Osborne 6-0, 6-3 in 2nd Singles and Kevin Downing defeated Carter Shaw 6-1, 6-1 in 3rd Singles.

In Doubles, Number-1 team of Will Flory and Jon Mills defeated Austin Hughes and Evan Wilson while Bear Cuic and Liam Puckett won by forfeiture. Coach David Mack said “With a lineup shake-up and kids never playing certain spots in the lineup, I am blown away by how they stepped up and took care of business.”

Elsewhere, Portsmouth Clay was a 4-1 winner over Portsmouth.
