Breast Cancer Awareness 5K Walk/Run October 4th at Adena Health
Article Presented By McDonald’s, “Im Lovin’ It!”
(Chillicothe) – Adena Health is offering the community a chance to take powerful strides in the fight against breast cancer during its annual Breast Cancer Awareness 5K Walk/Run taking place October 4th in Chillicothe.
One of every eight women is expected to develop breast cancer at some point in her life, but it’s not a disease limited to women. While rarer, roughly 2,800 new cases of invasive breast cancer are diagnosed annually in men, with about 500 lives lost.
Knowing what to watch for and what you can do to reduce your risk, therefore, is crucial in beating back the disease. During the walk/run, Adena will help participants learn more about the symptoms, prevention, screenings, and treatment of breast cancer.
In addition to arming participants with the information they need, all proceeds raised during the event will benefit cancer patients through the Adena Health Foundation’s cancer fund.
